Clean Water Management Trust Fund
North Carolina's Clean Water Management Trust Fund (CWMTF) was established by the General Assembly in 1996 as a non-regulatory organization with a focus on protecting and restoring the State’s land and water resources. We award grants to non-profit and governmental organizations to protect land for natural, historical and cultural benefit, limit encroachment on military installations, restore degraded streams, and develop and improve stormwater treatment technology.
What we do

PROTECTING OUR LAND RESOURCES
We protect our natural, cultural and historic resources and military buffers through grants to fund voluntary land conservation.

RESTORING DEGRADED STREAMS
We improve water quality and sustain water resources by funding projects to restore the habitat of fish, wildlife and other species, enhance the filtering of runoff and prevent pollutants from entering water supplies.
